Paris on Rails on November 17th

Posted by David October 17, 2006 @ 06:09 PM

Regional Rails conferences are popping up all over the place. On November 17th, Paris on Rails will go down. It looks like it’ll be a great show for all French speaking people out there. And they got some nice sponsors lined up, such as IBM and Telecom Italia. Way to go.

If you want to sign up, the fee is 60 euro.

”...the free is 60 euro.” How free is that?!

  2. Christophe Porteneuve on 18 Oct 19:41:

Maciek: er, more free than most conferences I see out there, but certainly not “free” :-)

    David: -r?

I love that logo for Paris on Rails. What a beauty!

(i took a cropped screenshot of the logo, so I hope the image tag works in this comment field.)

Yes, clearly, this logo “roxx”. It has been drawed by Emmanuel Martinat, who works for Graines d’octets, a French studio.

I hope the whole French speaking community will gather for this conference, as their speakers are well-established Rails experts in France.

I’ll definitely be there! 60 euro isn’t expensive really.

Just 6 days to go. I am wondering if this thing will be just for french-speaking people or if it will be a bit more international. To French people: Just in case you are still in doubt, French is not the international language.

To PARIS : I certainly can’t speak on behalf of the organizers, but looking at the schedule of the conference, seems to me that it will be mainly for french-speaking people.

French might not be the international language at the very moment, but it’s still the national language for the speakers, the attendees and the sponsors (alright, maybe apart Telecom Italia :) ).

The point of the conference is not so much to bask in the international aspect of the tool (unlike, say, LeWeb3), but to inform French developpers of the possibilities of Rails. Hence, French is a must here.

Again, I don’t speak for the organizer, but thanks for understanding my point.
